FLYING FIFTEEN SOUTHERN CHAMPIONSHIPS OF IRELAND 2011

The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
The Prescriptions of the ISA shall apply.
Boats may be required to affix advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
ENTRY AND ELIGIBILITY OF BOATS AND HELMS
The regatta is open to boats of the Flying Fifteen class whose helms are members of the Flying Fifteen Association of Ireland or their National Flying Fifteen Association.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the Official Entry Form, (downloadable from www.whsc.ie) and sending it, together with the entry fee of €70 (which includes €10 ff capitation fee) to the Secretary, Waterford Harbour Sailing Club, Dunmore East , Co Waterford.
Boats may enter at the Race Office, Waterford Harbour Sailing Club up to 2100hrs on the Friday of the event, however, competing boats are encouraged to send their completed application with payment in advance.

On the last day of the regatta, no warning signal will be made after 15:00.
All boats entering must have a valid Flying Fifteen Class Association Certificate issued prior to the date of the event. This certificate must be available for inspection at the Championship. The Race Committee, or an official appointed by it, may inspect competing boats at any time during the Championship.
The sailing instructions will be available for all competitors at registration at the venue.
Draft sailing instructions may be available on the WHSC website approximately 2 weeks before the championship.
Racing will be in the waters of Waterford Harbour.
Four races are required to be completed to constitute a series. When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
The Flying Fifteen Association of Ireland ranking system shall apply.
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three boats in the series overall. In addition, prizes will be awarded for the first and second placed boats in the Silver fleet and First in the Bronze fleet. Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Race Committee.
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of €1,500,000 per event or the equivalent.

CLUB FACILITIES Competitors and their families will be deemed Temporary Members of the Waterford Harbour Sailing Club for the duration of the event, and the Club's hard standing, sailing and dining facilities will be available to them during the event.
