CHEMICAL STRUCTURE
THERMAL DECOMPOSITION DATA (Half-Life 0.2 mole/liter in Benzene)
APPLICATION
Norox® 410-50P has thermal decomposition characteristics which are similar to those of Benzoyl Peroxide, and therefore may be substituted for the latter in polymerization and other free radical reactions. Norox® 410-50P is an effective substitute for Benzoyl Peroxide in the elevated temperature curing of styrene/unsaturated polyester compositions. The liquid peroctoate is readily dispensed and blended with the resins and generally yields the same gel and cure characteristics as Benzoyl Peroxide at lower catalyst concentrations. Norox® 410-50P is well suited to the fast cure cycles of polyester molding at temperatures between 250°F (118°C) and 300°F (205°C), as well as premix molding of reinforced laminates. The products have improved physical properties including better surface finish, wet-out, and hot strength. Cracking and crazing in resin-rich areas is eliminated. Although accelerators such as dimethylaniline and cobalt naphthenate do not influence the rate of decomposition of t-Butyl peroctoate at room temperature, reduced gel and cure times of polyesters are obtained at elevated temperatures; particularly with dimethylaniline. An advantage of Norox® 410-50P is that although combustible, it is not shock sensitive.
Technical Information

NOROX 410-50P
Storage at 60°F (15°C) or below is recommended. Store in original containers away from flammables and all sources of heat, sparks, or flames; out of direct
sunlight; and away from cobalt naphthenate, other promoters, accelerators, oxidizing or reducing agents
and strong acids or bases.
Leaking containers – Remove and isolate in a safe area. Re-package or dispose immediately (see spills).
Never store in refrigerators containing food and/or beverages.
Consult National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 432 and/or local regulatory agencies. HANDLING
• Norox® 410-50P is a combustible oxidizing liquid, which must be handled with care.

Inform all personnel of procedures for safe handling and review MSDS with them. Remove from storage area only the amount needed for immediate usage. Wear safety glasses or goggles and chemical resistant gloves. Keep away from heat, flames, and sparks. Never add peroxides directly to promoters or vice-versa, violent decomposition can occur.
FIRST AID
EYES – Flush immediately with large amounts of fresh water and continue washing for at least 15 minutes.
Medical attention is needed.
INGESTION – Administer large amounts of milk or water and call a physician immediately. Do not induce vomiting. As an aid to the physician, suggest calling your local Poison Control Center. Soak spilled material with water. The addition of water will reduce the concentration of the peroxide and will reduce its hazard potential. Clean up immediately by absorbing with inert non-acidic material – vermiculite or sand. After absorbing, moderately wet immediately with water and place in a clean plastic bag inside a plastic pail. Dispose of immediately in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
NOTE:
Spilled peroxides, if not immediately cleaned up, can become contaminated and ignite or decompose in a
Peroxides ignite readily and burn vigorously with acceleration. Use water from a safe distance – preferably with a water-fog nozzle. For very small fires, an extinguisher with carbon dioxide, foam, or dry chemical may be effective. In case of fire in or near a storage area, cool stored containers with water spray. PACKAGING, SHIPPING & AVAILABILITY

inactivated rdxA in Mtz(r) strains were identified and explained using RdxA protein's structure. All of the strains were sensitive to clarithromycin and erythromycin. Amoxicillin and tetracycline resistance was rare. Sequence analysis indicated that most tetracycline resistance, when found, was not due to 16S rRNA gene mutations. These data suggest caution in the use of Mtz-based therapies in T
