SUMMARY: Assists in the provision of clinic services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Assist with clinic reception as needed, including data entry to include:
Receptionist duties as listed; greet clients, assist with completing appropriate forms, determine client fee
level, schedule appointments, answer phones and take messages, route incoming calls to appropriate
staff, check message center, change message center greetings, maintain and update client database.
Assists clients with sign up for Medicaid eligible programs
Collect client fees, complete receipts, maintain client account records, including payment requests as
necessary.
Pull clinic files for the week. Maintain and file client records. Files charts after clinic.
Clinic Functions to include:
Perform intake functions, which include height, weight, hematocrit/hemoglobin, urine testing,
pregnancy testing and completion of appropriate forms (see intake protocol) at all clinic sites.
Prepare exam rooms for client use to include preparing wet mount equipment and STD supplies.
Venipuncture for lab tests.
Perform clinic exit functions as necessary to include reproductive health information (i.e. birth control,
vaginitis, weight control, STDs) See exit protocol.
Provide contraceptive education to include review of all methods or educate as to specific method.
Responsibilities to include; method follow-up, pregnancy testing, and distribution of non-prescription
supplies.
Assist with the follow-up of clients with negative repeat lab results.
Clean clinic rooms and lab area and assist with cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
Prepare biohazard waste for monthly pickup.
Order and check in clinic supplies and keep an inventory of clinic supplies.
Assist with special clinic procedures/clinics (ex: colposcopy, Norplant removal, IUD insertion and
removal).
Assist with special research projects.
Do quality control checks according to CLIA guidelines.
Prepare lab specimens for mailing.
Maintain records on Pap and STD tests to include posting results in chart.
Data entry to statewide data system.
Actively participate in staff meetings and participate on committees as needed.
Attend conferences, training, and workshops appropriate for the position.
Conform to all established procedures regarding confidentiality and documentation.
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able
to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or 6 months or more related experience and/or
training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend instruction of moderate complexity, documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small
group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations. Ability to solve practical problems.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work with persons of diverse education, income, culture, and age levels.
Willingness to learn Family Planning and related health information and elementary laboratory skills.
Knowledge of filing procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Dependable car, car insurance and drivers license. Working telephone in residence. Commitment to Family planning goals and clinic mission. CPR certification annually. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
