The PCCSL Secretariat explained that complaints against published articles within a period of two-years can be considered according to the Rule and Procedures of the Dispute Resolution Council of the Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka. The complaint was taken up before the DRC meeting in January. The DRC ruled that the PCCSL Secretariat should follow the rules and procedures when resolving complaints and therefore dismissed it. Complained against the use of a photograph of “Sri Lanka’s Tara Devi statue at the British Museum” taken by her and reproduced in an article titled “Lost treasures to be brought home” omitting her by-line for the photograph. Complaint was entertained on the grounds that a similar complaint against a photograph taken by a research student appeared in an article without her by-line in the Sunday Observer.
