Key benchmark indices ended with modest losses after
swinging wildly either ways during the course of the day's
trading session. The Sensex ended lower on the back of fall in
shares of metal, realty, power, capital goods, telecom and
banking companies, after seeing a recovery of around 285
points from day's low. Markets fell as Investors booked profits
in China which fell 7.5% as they worried that banks may restrict
lending to control risks that threaten on asset bubble. Chinese
government also cut gasoline prices. The market may remain
volatile ahead of expiry of July 2009 futures and options (F&O)
contract on Thursday, 30 July 2009. As per reports, rollovers of
Nifty positions from July 2009 series to August 2009 series
stood at 42%, as on Tuesday, 28 July 2009. Rollover in Mini
Nifty was about 35%.The Q1 June 2009 results announced so
far have encouraging, with lower costs helping bottomline
growth. The combined net profit of 1074 companies rose 22.8%
to Rs 51151 crore on 0.4% fall in sales to Rs 431288 crore in Q1
June 2009 over Q1 June 2008. The US markets ended flat
yesterday in a range-bound trade despite a late attempt to
revert losses after the Fed's beige book showed signs of
improvement in regional economies. Crude dropped nearly 6%
after data showed a surge in US crude inventories on higher
imports and lower refinery activity. Copper declined the metal
advanced to the highest level in almost 10 months was excessive amid a seasonal slowdown in China.

The US markets have closed flat on waning consumer
confidence and increasing unemployment. European
markets too have closed flat on U.S. cues. Asian
markets are all trading mixed. We too will open up
